“I have been actively involved in sports my entire life and have always identified as an athlete. A multi-sport athlete in high school, I went on to play volleyball at Niagara College for two seasons before moving to Victoria to pursue a degree in Athletic and Exercise Therapy. The transition out of competitive volleyball was a challenging one as naturally I was a power-based athlete so did not excel in endurance-based sports. I found Crossfit which later led me to my current focus of Olympic weightlifting where I recently competed at the BC Provincial Championships as a 75kg lifter. I am also a provincial level wheelchair basketball athlete, and recently competed in my 3rd National Championships. I also completed my NCCP – Intro to Competition course coaching the Victoria Chargers to a silver medal at this years provincials.
I crossed paths with F2C Nutrition while working with Triathlon Canada as a classifier with the para team. It came at an opportune time as I was trying to drop a weight class to qualify for provincials. I was looking for products that could support my training and maintain muscle mass while cutting weight. Thanks to the amazing F2C product line, in 12 weeks I was able to increase my Clean and Jerk and Snatch total by 16kg (from 124kg to 140kg) while losing 9kg of body weight and reach my goal.”
Sarah shares her passion for sport as an Athletic Therapist and Strength & Conditioning coach through her business Athletic Therapy Plus and is involved in the community as a coach and chairperson of Victoria Wheelchair Sports Club.
