Sheila grew up competitive swimming. She was a member of the Canadian National Swim Team, Pan American Games Competitor, and NCAA Div I athlete. After university, marriage, children, and career took precedence and sport fell to the wayside. With some coaxing from her brother, in 2013 she got back in the pool as a Master’s swimmer, and then in 2014 was introduced to the sport of triathlon.
Sheila fell in love with the sport, and won her first age group 70.3 IM event in 2015. At the age of 42, in 2016 she earned the opportunity to race as an Ironman Professional Athlete. During these years, F2C became an integral part of her race and recovery fueling, helping to keep her on top of her busy life as mom, athlete, and still holding down her full time job.
Sheila has returned to age group racing for 2021, and enjoys coaching others to go after what’s important to them and growing their passion for sport.
