Stephen eats, sleeps, and dreams triathlon 24/7.
Well, not actually…but maybe a little bit when he’s allowed.
Originally from BC, he now lives in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada where he has 2 beautifully active children and a dazzling wife.
Downhill skiing, soccer, golf, mountain biking, basketball, and running were a few of the things that just seemed like fun as a kid, until rowing took over as a student athlete at the University of Victoria. As the bachelor degree concluded, so did the rowing career, but with a quick transition of about 2 days, and an amazing Victoria triathlon community, Stephen ventured into a new experience. The Triathlon National Training Centre in Victoria allowed a small group of ‘not-Pro-calibre’ athletes to train with the program, at least until a certain future 2000 Olympic Triathlon champion returned from Australia to train at the centre. We must not have been too much of an irritation to be kicked out, so for the summer of 2000 our little group trained with the best! Wow!
Since then, Stephen has taken that unique experience, and has managed to compete at 2 World duathlon championships, and has qualified for the 70.3 Worlds.
While not pretending to be a ‘Professional triathlete’, Stephen is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist and Athletic Therapist, and operates a custom foot orthotic clinic along with his wife.
This year, his goals are to qualify for Ironman 70.3 worlds, to race several local short distance triathlons, as well as Gran Fondo Whistler.
An active lifestyle would not be possible without proper rest and nutrition. For this reason, Stephen is so glad to have come across F2C Nutrition at Ironman 70.3 Canada last year, where he had his first taste of what he now believes is the world’s most intelligent nutrition line. During this off season, he has become a big fan of Pharma-Greens, Ultra-Durance, and Natural Vegan-Pure Energy. What will 2019 have in store? Can’t wait to find out!
